ATHENS — Georgia’s defensive line is loaded right now, but beyond this year, the picture is murky. So the Bulldogs are pursuing a proven college player who could help that.

Breiden Fehoko, who started 25 games the past two years at Texas Tech, remains on Georgia’s radar as a transfer candidate. Fehoko, who’s listed at 6-foot-3 and 295 pounds, intends to visit Athens on April 13, according to Dawgs247.com.

Others pursuing Fehoko (2 sacks, 37 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss over the past two years) include Auburn, LSU, Alabama, Louisville and several more SEC schools.

Trent Thompson (who is expected back this fall after sitting out the spring), Jonathan Ledbetter and DaQuan Hawkins-Muckle will be draft-eligible following the 2017 season. Nose tackle John Atkins is a senior this year. And the team only signed two defensive lineman in February.

Fehoko must sit out the 2017 season, per NCAA transfer rules. He will have two years of eligibility at that point and be available when the Bulldogs have potential needs.
