Twitter reacts to Georgia defeating Baylor in the Sugar Bowl
The 2020 Sugar Bowl couldn’t have gone any differently for Georgia than the 2019 Sugar Bowl did. The No. 5-ranked Bulldogs defeated the seventh-ranked Baylor Bears, 26-14, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday.
While it was a great team win, the offense finally broke out behind tremendous performances from wide receiver George Pickens and quarterback Jake Fromm. Pickens led the way with 12 catches, 175 receiving yards and a touchdown. Incredibly, 11 of his receptions came in the first half, and his 12 grabs tied a school bowl record.
Eleven of Fromm’s first 14 completions were to Pickens. The junior quarterback finished 20 of 30 for 250 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions.
The Bulldogs defense was tremendous once again as well. For the fifth time this season, Georgia held an opponent without points during the first half, and junior Richard LeCounte recorded two interceptions.
The victory improved Georgia to 12-2 this season, giving the Bulldogs its second 12-win season in the last three years. The Bulldogs had never accomplished that feat before in program history. Furthermore, Georgia’s senior class tied a school record with 44 wins.
There are more games played in today’s era of college football, but those achievements are incredible nonetheless.
With all of that in mind, there was plenty of material for fans to react to late Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning. For those on social media, the nice win over Baylor seemed to take a backseat to the future for Fromm and the performance from Pickens.
Here are the best reactions from Twitter after the Sugar Bowl:
How much does recruiting matter?
Georgia is down two NFL tackles on the offensive line and still scored 19 points against a top ten team in the first half of the Sugar Bowl. Most teams are debilitated when losing stud tackles.
That five-star receiver is alright too.

Fromm if he leaves will regret not knowing could he ve won a national title in 2020. No sure thing he will make it in the NFL.

Really hope Fromm comes back for his senior year

People forget how young our team is as well. So much coming back and reloading as well. Hoping Fromm comes back to lead this young receiving group coming in.
