The Georgia Bulldogs put the SEC and college football world on notice on Saturday night, pounding Mississippi State 31-3 in an all-around dominant effort.

The voters in the AP Top 25 Poll were impressed, moving Georgia up four spots to No. 7.

The Bulldogs are the second-highest-ranked conference team, with Alabama keeping a stranglehold on the top position after a beatdown of Vanderbilt. Auburn (No. 13) and Florida (No. 21) follow. Mississippi State falls to No. 24 from No. 17. LSU completes the rankings by staying at No. 25.

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm didn’t throw the ball much, but when he did, he made it count. The freshman completed 9 of 12 passes for 201 yards and 2 touchdowns in the victory. Running back Nick Chubb rushed for 2 scores, and the Bulldogs defense held Mississippi State to 280 total yards of offense.

The Bulldogs travel to Knoxville to take on rival Tennessee this Saturday.
