Georgia continued to rise in the latest Amway Coaches Poll after dominating Mississippi State on Saturday night in a 31-3 victory.
The Bulldogs are No. 8 in the latest poll, up from No. 12.
The game against Mississippi State was Georgia’s to win from the start. Quarterback Jake Fromm found wide receiver Terry Goodwin open for a 59-yard touchdown pass on the Bulldogs’ first offensive play. Fromm finished with 209 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. Running back Nick Chubb rushed for 2 scores.
Georgia is the second-highest-ranked conference team, with Alabama, coming off a 59-0 demolishing of Vanderbilt, keeping its position atop the rankings at No. 1. Auburn, which defeated Missouri 51-14, follows at No. 15, and Florida comes in at No. 20. LSU, a winner against Syracuse on Saturday, rises to No. 22, while Mississippi State falls to No. 24.
