Georgia stays at No. 2 in AP poll as Dawgs prepare for Auburn
Georgia will head to Auburn next Saturday for arguably its biggest test of the season as the No. 2-ranked team in the AP Top 25 poll. This is the second straight week the Bulldogs have been ranked second behind the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Georgia (9-0, 6-0) officially clinched the SEC East with Kentucky’s loss on Saturday, meaning it will travel to Auburn with a spot in the SEC Championship Game already locked up. However, to reach its ultimate goal, the College Football Playoff, Georgia likely needs to enter that game undefeated, making a win against the Tigers all but required.
Auburn joined both the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide in the top 10, claiming that last spot after beating Texas A&M 42-27. Alabama posted its own double-digit win, beating LSU 24-10.
Mississippi State came in at No. 18.
