WATCH: Former Georgia RB Herschel Walker tells TMZ he wants position on Donald Trump’s staff
Herschel Walker is a longtime friend of Donald Trump, the New York businessman who is now the President-elect of the United States. And the former Georgia running back would consider helping his friend in a professional capacity if an offer was extended.
Walker recently told TMZ that while he hasn’t been in contact with Trump since he beat out Hillary Clinton in last Tuesday’s election, Walker would be interested in holding a position under Trump.
Which position? Walker said he would like to serve as the head of the president’s council on fitness, sports and nutrition, a position currently held by New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and retired American gymnast Dominique Dawes.
“I hope he would at least consider me,” Walker said in an interview with TMZ.
Walker has been a supporter of Trump throughout the election, also addressing in his interview with TMZ how he hopes to see the country succeed moving forward.
“I want this country to continue being the best country in the world,” Walker said. “I’m tired of people taking advantage of this country. I’m tired of people not realizing that this is the best country in the world.”
