For the longest time, Demetris Robertson seemed like he would be heading to Athens. 247Sports’ Crystal Ball Prediction had him as a heavy favorite to join Georgia. It was a complete surprise when the top wide receiver in the country opted to head West to Cal.
The coaching change to Kirby Smart may have changed his recruiting plans. But it is clearer than ever to see what made him such a sought-after target coming out of high school.
California posted a video of the Georgia native completing a 63-inch box jump. It is an incredibly impressive feat:

The Savannah, Ga.-native was still considering Georgia up until the end before Cal came into the picture. The Bulldogs went hard after him even after his commitment was made as Smart tried to retain Georgia’s recruiting class.
Robertson is definitely the one who got away.
