Watch: Kirby Smart’s post-game press conference after the slim Nicholls State win
ATHENS, Ga. — Kirby Smart wasn’t happy after a narrow 26-24 win against a Nicholls State team that won just three games last season.
He didn’t like the way his offensive line couldn’t get a consistent push against Nicholls State. Smart also wasn’t happy with how Georgia performed in its home debut after a strong showing last week against a ranked North Carolina team.
Nicholls State took a 14-13 lead in the third quarter and was knocking on the upset door deep into the fourth quarter.
When he met the media afterward, Smart has some very pointed comments regarding the following topics:
- What did he think about Jacob Eason’s play on Saturday?
- How did he regard the victory?
- He inserted a reference from Duke Hall of Fame basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski into his post-game comments regarding his team. What was it?
- Did he see any bright spots? What did he say about the not-so-bright spots?
