Georgia football fans are celebrating UGA’s third-consecutive trip to the SEC championship game, and DawgNation is providing unparalleled coverage each day on video in a series called Road to Atlanta — presented by Kroger. Each day host Brandon Adams will cover all the latest news and key storylines as the Bulldogs prepare for LSU. The latest edition of Road to Atlanta takes a closer look at the head coaches of the two teams in the SEC Championship game.

UGA coach Kirby Smart and his LSU counterpart, Ed Orgeron, may come across differently to football fans during their press conferences.

Smart is mostly serious, and can be short and terse with his comments. Sometimes it’s almost like Smart wishes he was somewhere else – probably studying film.

Meanwhile, LSU’s Orgeron comes across like a cartoon character in front of reporters, in a positive way – jovial and gregarious with a funny voice.

However, in reality, both Smart and Orgeron are probably more alike than what it appears behind the scenes – Orgeron as a skilled tactician, and Smart as the fun-loving coach that appears in dance videos after big wins.

Obviously, both coaches have enjoyed tremendous success this year in leading their respective teams to Saturday’s SEC Championship game.

Watch the video below (the story continues below the video).

Smart was asked about Orgeron’s personality this week:

“I think it’s more important what he does with his team than what he says. Words only go so far … it’s your actions and your team’s performance. (Orgeron) has certainly spoke loud and clear with that because they’ve played really well in big games.

“He keeps his team good and loose, and they play to his character …”

Tune into Road to Atlanta — presented by Kroger and Georgia United Credit Union — each night this week at 6:00 pm to preview the SEC championship showdown between Georgia and LSU.
