Former Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Chicago White Sox’s game on Saturday afternoon, continuing his transition to the Windy City.
Smith, the No. 8 overall pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2018 NFL Draft, threw from the mound and turned in a decent effort. Here’s a clip:

A little high, but not too shabby.

Smith was in the news recently after having several items, including a Bears playbook, stolen from his car in Athens, Ga. However, Athens police recovered the items and apprehended a suspect.
“Thank you all for helping Roquan recover his stolen items,” the Bears wrote in a letter to the Athens Police Department. “They would have been irreplaceable. We have you covered in Chicago. You all are the best.”
Training camp for Smith and other NFL rookies will begin in mid-July.
