WATCH: Todd Gurley’s hilarious exchange with trespassing Barstool Sports blogger
Super Bowl Media Day has become as entertaining for its curious questions from non-traditional sports media as the appearance of the NFL stars themselves.
That proved no different in Atlanta on Monday as former Georgia star and Los Angeles Rams tailback Todd Gurley was pressed about his non-score against the Green Bay Packers earlier this season.
Dave Portnoy, noted blogger and founder of the popular and sometimes controversial Barstool Sports, falsified a credential and had a confrontational exchange with Gurley before being escorted out.
Portnoy’s prank also involved him approaching Rams’ defensive lineman Ndamukong Su about his “dirty” style of play as it related to the potential for that against Tom Brady and the Patriots.
The exchange between Portnoy and Gurley concerned the former Georgia football star’s decision not to score a touchdown in the closing moments of the Oct. 28 game in Los Angeles.
Gurley had broken through the line of scrimmage and was headed toward the end zone against Green Bay before slowing up so he could be tackled around the 4-yard line.

The play prevented the Packers from getting the football back, but it also played a role in hundreds of thousands of dollars bet on the game. The Rams were a 7 1/2 point favorite, and the over-under was 57.5, according to ESPN.com.
Gurley, to his credit, handled Portnoy’s playful press charge with humor on Monday night.
DP: “Todd let me take you back, fourth quarter, Packers-Rams, one minute left, some guys got the over, some guys got the Rams …. you take a dive.
“Some people said that cost some people 40 grand, maybe, maybe not, and cursed you. You went, you don’t care about the gamblers, you don’t care about them at all. It wasn’t a smart play though, because you stood up and let them tackle you.
“Do you have any words for people that you cost tens of thousands of dollars by quitting on your team, and quitting on football?”
TG: “They’ll be alright. I’ve been winning them money my whole career”
DP: What about the others, people that are putting their asses in the seats?
TG: “It sounds like a personal problem to me.”
DP: “It is a very personal problem. Some people say you’re cursed.”
TG: “Nah, they are, they’re the ones that lost the money, not me.”
DP: “We’ll see.”
