The Georgia Bulldogs won their opening game 37-10, but was a rather unimpressive effort, as the Bulldogs had just 5 points in the first and didn’t score their first touchdown until the third quarter.

Because of that, the Bulldogs were jumped in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll this week. Florida overtook them in the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll, as Florida is No. 3 and Georgia is No. 4. Oklahoma lost to Kansas State, opening up that No. 3 spot.

After the game, Georgia coach Kirby Smart was blunt about the team’s performance, calling it sloppy.

“First half, I felt like I was in an extra-innings baseball game because it went forever,” Smart said. “We weren’t scoring points, that’s for certain. Got a long way to go to get where we need to go but I want to be positive about the second half and what the guys were able to do, get a little energy, juice.

The Bulldogs are one of eight SEC teams ranked in the Coaches Poll this week. Alabama sits at No. 2, Florida is at No. 3, Auburn is No. 7, Texas A&M goes to No. 13, Mississippi State joins the poll at No. 14 after a 44-34 victory over now No. 17 LSU and No. 20 Tennessee.

Georgia does not get any breaks on the schedule, as it hosts Auburn this coming Saturday, Tennessee on Oct. 10 and then visits Alabama on Oct. 17.

College GameDay will be on hand for Georgia’s game against Auburn this week, as it is the first Top-10 matchup of the college football season. The Georgia-Auburn contest is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
