While this year’s UGA basketball team is struggling through its second dismal season in a row, the tough times apparently won’t have much of impact on the NBA future of Anthony Edwards.

On Monday, ESPN released its latest NBA mock draft, and “Antman” was elevated to the No. 1 overall selection for this year’s draft.

Edwards was projected to go in the top spot to the Cleveland Cavaliers by ESPN’s Jonathan Givony. Here’s the rest of the top five:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia 2. Golden State Warriors: James Wiseman, C, Memphis 3. Atlanta Hawks: Isaac Okoro, G/F, Auburn 4. New York Knicks: LaMelo Ball, G, Australia 5. Deni Avdija, G/F, Israel

Edwards is the leading scorer for UGA, which is in 13th place in the SEC with a 12-13 record (2-10 in the conference). The 6-foot-5 freshman from Atlanta is averaging 19 points per game for the Bulldogs.

The first-year phenom has struggled in a few recent outings, but he always does something in every Bulldogs basketball game that will quickly remind observers why he is the potential No. 1 pick for this year’s NBA draft.

Edwards has yet to reveal whether or not he will declare for a professional career after his freshman campaign.
