Georgia fans react on Twitter to news of Jonas Hayes heading to Xavier
The Jonas Hayes tracker came to an end on Monday afternoon when Xavier announced that the former Georgia basketball assistant coach had been added to its staff.
Given that Hayes was a valuable member of the coaching staff in terms of recruiting and developing players, it’s a tough loss for new Bulldogs coach Tom Crean.
Georgia basketball fans had some mixed reactions online about the news, ranging from disappointment at losing Hayes to feeling happy he landed at another good job, especially one that isn’t in Gainesville.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction on Twitter:

Hayes had been in Athens for a long time. He played for Georgia and spent five seasons on former coach Mark Fox’s staff.
