The Georgia golf team has signed two prospects, and both have some family history with the Bulldogs.

Bo Sikes and Davis Thompson both signed their national letters of intent to join the Georgia men’s golf team, coach Chris Haack announced on Wednesday.

Sikes is the grandson of former Georgia player Billy Payne, who served as CEO for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games in 1996 and is now the chairman of Augusta National Golf Club. His grandson attends Atlanta’s The Marist School where he averaged a score of 77.5 last year.

Thompson is from Auburn, Ala., and attends Lee-Scott Academy. His father, Todd Thompson, also played golf for Georgia from 1985-88. He served as the Bulldogs captain in his final two seasons.

“We expect Bo and Davis to bring a great deal to our program,” Haack said in a press release. “They are solid prospects who have bright days ahead of them. They’ve been on our radar for quite awhile, and we can’t wait to have them join us in Athens. With their family backgrounds, they know the history and the tradition of Georgia, and I can tell they’re excited about being Bulldogs.”
