Florida commit Jeawon Taylor announced he will be taking an official visit to Georgia in January just two weeks after reeling in an offer from the Bulldogs.

The four-star safety will make the trek to Athens on Jan. 15, two days following the conclusion of the NCAA recruiting dead period.

Earlier in the month, Taylor told DawgNation he would consider Georgia as a fallback option barring any changes in his commitment to Florida. Much of that can be credited to his relationhip with new Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart, who served as Taylor’s lead recruiter during his tenure with the Crimson Tide.

“It may be because he was there (for me) before I blew up and became what I am today,” Taylor told DawgNation in the recent interview. “Kirby Smart is just a great coach. That’s the bottom line.”

Coincidentally, Taylor is actively recruiting another Georgia target to Florida — Lyndell Wilson. He and the five-star linebacker are close friends and have considered the possibility of playing together. Wilson recently announced he will be taking an official visit to Athens the same weekend as Taylor.

Taylor is rated as the No. 9 prospect in Alabama.
