WATCH: 3 things about Georgia flipping 5-star WR George Pickens
ATHENS — Georgia football has added another 5-star, and it comes at a position that was hit hard by attrition.
No doubt, Heisman Trophy candidate Jake Fromm will be looking for fresh targets after losing go-to receiver Riley Ridley to early entry into the NFL Draft.

George Pickens, a 5-star receiver out of Hoover, Ala., who was committed to Auburn announced he will sign with the Bulldogs.
Here are 3 things about the Bulldogs adding the 6-foot-5, 195-pound Pickens on Wednesday:
Need position
Georgia lost three of its top four receivers from 2018, two to early entry into the NFL Draft, Riley Ridley and Mecole Hardman.
When one considers junior tight end and No. 3 pass catcher from last season Isaac Nauta went pro, the Bulldogs are without four of their top five pass catchers. Departing senior WR Terry Godwin was fourth in receptions.

Young group
Georgia has a young receiving room led by rising junior Jeremiah Holloman, the leading returning pass catcher with 24 receptions for 418 yards last season.
Tyler Simmons and Demetris Robertson are the other receivers with experience of note.
Simmons had 9 catches for 138 yards in 2018. Roberston didn’t have a catch last season, but a healthy offseason is expected to return him to the Freshman All-American form he showed at Cal in 2016.
Reports from offseason workouts indicate early WR signee Dominick Blaylock is having a very strong start to his career with the Bulldogs, as well.
Recruiting showdown
New Georgia OC James Coley and Cortez Hankton went toe-to-toe with two of the more renowned heavyweights on the recruiting trail.
In landing Pickens, the Georgia staff beat Auburn’s Rodney Garner and celebrated Tennessee additions Tee Martin and Jim Chaney.
