Georgia sophomore wide receiver Michael Chigbu will be out for Saturday’s home game against Louisiana-Lafayette because of knee problems.
During the week, Chigbu had been listed as questionable, with Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart said earlier in the week that Chigbu may have to miss this week’s game to have his knee drained of fluid.
Chigbu has started six games this season and without him, it’s another hit to the receiver rotation that was already missing sophomore Jayson Stanley (foot injury).
However, it looks like senior Reggie Davis, who missed the Auburn game with a shoulder injury, will be able to play.
Chigbu has only caught two passes over the past six games, both of which came on Oct. 15 against Vanderbilt. For the season, he has hauled in nine receptions for 88 yards.
Georgia and Louisiana-Lafayette are set to kick off at noon on SEC Network.
