UGA DB commitment Malek Young is better than his star ranking. He’s on a team with two four-star recruits but continues to be the engine of the team’s success.

The three-star prospect scored the first three Coconut Creek touchdowns of a 41-21 win Saturday afternoon against Marist. According to his head coach Kareem Reid, his 47-yard catch-and-run off a bubble screen might now rank as the top highlight of a prolific prep career. He broke several tackles on the play.

Young told the AJC after the game that’s he’s ’95 percent committed’ and the only other school on his mind is Clemson. That said, he said he will only take one official visit.

That’s to UGA on Oct. 3 for the Alabama game.

“Georgia feels like family,” Young said. “That’s where really my heart is at.”
