It’s official. Roquan Smith is one of the best linebackers in America.

As if Georgia’s players, coaches and fans didn’t already know.

Smith secured two honors on Monday when he was named to the AP All-America first team and the USA Today All-America first team.

Teammate Isaiah Wynn was named a second-team All-American by AP, and they were the only Georgia players included on the organization’s three teams.

The All-America selections are the latest honors for Smith in the week-plus following his MVP performance in Georgia’s victory in the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 2. He won the Butkus Award and has been named to a variety of All-SEC teams, including earning SEC Defensive Player of the Year marks.

More quietly, senior left tackle Wynn has accrued a few postseason honors as well, adding his second-team All-America selection to his All-SEC recognition.

Three players from Oklahoma, Georgia’s opponent in the Rose Bowl, were selected as first-team All-Americans, all on offense: quarterback Baker Mayfield, left tackle Orlando Brown and tight end Mark Andrews.
