ATHENS — Thanks for tuning in to the Zaxby’s Sound Off, with beat writers Seth Emerson and Chip Towers offering their thoughts on the Georgia football team. Each week your DawgNation writers offer up some thoughts on the Bulldogs – and this week we talk the win over Notre Dame and what it means going forward.

After a week in South Bend, Ind., Chip is back, not exactly tanned and not exactly rested, but very impressed by what he saw in the stands and on the field from Georgia.

And after a long weekend of watching Georgia’s win in person and then breaking it down on film, Seth also is ready to offer his impressions.

  • What to make of Georgia’s dominant defense and has it answered the question of whether it will be great?
  • How much should people still worry about the offense, which struggled at times, but ultimately saw Jake Fromm and company get it done?
  • Oh, and what about the special teams, which quietly have improved — or at least seemed to improve?

Chip and Seth discuss all that, and also a bit — just a little bit — about the next opponent, Samford. (Chip knows Samford’s nickname. Seth knows the coach, Chris Hatcher.)

Chip wrote in-depth about Georgia still seeking an offensive identity in his Towers Take, in which he spoke with David Greene about Fromm’s development, Matt Stinchcomb about the identity issue, and Nick Chubb about the team’s comfort level. You can read that story here.

Seth also sought out Aaron Murray, to whom Fromm often is compared, and Murray sees the resemblance too. You can ready that story here.

Also, for some more in-depth analysis on Georgia’s win at Notre Dame, and the various offensive formations used by Jim Chaney, you can read the weekly At Second Glance here.
