OXFORD, Miss. — Georgia tailback Nick Chubb suffered a left ankle injury late in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against Ole Miss and is out “for now” in the second half.

That was the press-box announcement as the Bulldogs kicked off to the Rebels in the third quarter. Chubb actually had a decent game going, with 57 yards on 12 carries and no lost-yardage runs.

Georgia was already trailing 31-0 at the time, its worst halftime deficit since 2008 when it was down by the same score to Alabama. Chubb was not spotted on the sideline in the third quarter and it did not look like he was planning to return.

Chubb is coming off a major knee reconstruction on his left leg. He was second in the SEC with 365 yards rushing coming into Saturday’s game.
