Future Georgia wide receiver Charlie Woerner locked up the 2A state discus title on Thursday afternoon with a toss of 158 feet and two inches at the Georgia High School Association Track and Field State Championships.
Woerner, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound pass catcher who may play some tight end for the Bulldogs, is a four-star recruit and the No. 25 receiver in the Class of 2016, according to the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
His uncle, Scott Woerner, played safety at UGA and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame earlier in 2016.
