Lawrence Cager officially transformed into a fan favorite with his stellar play in UGA’s win over Florida on Saturday.

The grad transfer from the University of Miami also had some fun with the Gators defensive secondary after the game:

On his Instagram page, the senior UGA receiver posted a photo of him pointing at a Gators defender, with the caption “I thought they was DBU.”

Forgive Cager for perhaps getting too excited, as it was his signature game for UGA – and it came at the ideal time, against the team’s biggest rival. Cager was clearly the Bulldogs No. 1 playmaker on offense on Saturday, catching seven passes for 132 yards and a touchdown.

It was a triumphant return for Cager, who missed much of the stunning loss to South Carolina and the entire game against Kentucky with shoulder and rib injuries.

It’s no coincidence that UGA quarterback Jake Fromm struggled mightily in those two games without his most trusted receiver.
