BREAKING: In-state speedster Cole Speer commits to UGA

Cole Speer, that quicksilver wide receiver from North Georgia, had said he wanted to take his time. Speer thought to let that Georgia scholarship offer marinate for a good country minute.
It seems like everything that Speer does is pretty stinking fast.
“I’ve been up there twice and visited twice,” Speer said on Thursday. “As soon as he offered me about two weeks ago I have been thinking about it every single day. It crosses my mind. I probably think about it for hours every day. Since the day after he offered me, I haven’t had a day where I like even thought about not committing so I went ahead and got it out of the way, got it done so I can focus on my high school team and then go from there.”
Speer committed to UGA on Thursday night. The unrated receiver (247Sports Composite) from Calhoun High in North Georgia released his decision that he had committed to the Bulldogs to join their 2022 class.
He’d been thinking of doing so all week. Speer finally made that call to Kirby Smart on Wednesday night
“I called Kirby [Smart] and called [Cortez] Hankton and told them about it,” Speer said. “They were pumped up and I was just and excited as them.”
The 6-foot, 185-pound speedster becomes the 14th commitment for UGA in this cycle. He’s the second WR prospect to commit to the G in this class.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart acknowledged the commitment shortly after Speer’s tweet on Thursday night.
