Fans who were concerned that UGA might come out flat against South Carolina in Saturday’s matchup were worrying for nothing. Before the team’s pregame “Dawg Walk,” the UGA players nearly tipped over one of the team busses.
The team was visibly energized for the 6 p.m. kickoff against Steve Spurrier’s Gamecocks, and it showed. UGA kicked a field goal on its opening possession and took a 24-13 lead into halftime.
Seats were covered with fans clad in red and the stadium music was blaring. If there were any reasons to be concerned about the team’s energy level, they put those to rest before even stepping onto the field.
