Georgia fans will have even more reasons to be excited about 5-star linebacker Nakobe Dean after some recent comments from DawgNation’s recruiting insider Jeff Sentell.

A recap of what Jeff had to say is part of Friday’s edition of DN90.

Dean has all the credentials for a breakout season. He was the highest-rated player from his home state of Mississippi, the No. 2 player in the country at his position and the No. 19 player overall. Yet he also arrives at UGA at a time when the Bulldogs are incredibly deep at linebacker.

Jeff doesn’t think the competition will bother Dean, and went into details as to why.

“The way he plays the game,” Jeff said Friday on DawgNation Daily. “and you combine that with all the physical elements — about six feet tall, 220 pounds, rock solid strong in the weight room already, tireless worker, [and] wants to get better everyday.”

Dean has also spoken openly in the past about his desire to battle for playing time and the concern he’d have if the school he signed with didn’t offer much resistance to getting on the field. He is also matter of fact about what his approach to college will be — which will presumably be on display this spring.

“I feel like I’m coming to work and I’m coming,” Dean told DawgNation in December. “I’m coming. Like to work. Period. That’s the whole reason I am coming to college. I feel like it is more so a business trip than to have fun. I know that a feeling and having fun was a big thing in my recruiting process but I’m coming to work.”

That ethic will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to Dean, but what about the other linebackers already in the fold?

Junior Monty Rice proved last season that — when healthy — he’s a valuable run stopper. Sophomore Channing Tindall could be a rising star, and there are high hopes for 2018 5-star signee Quay Walker as well.

Dean is also joined in the 2019 class by two other impressive 4-star inside linebackers — Rian “Trouble” Davis and Trezmen Marshall.

Given the glut of talent, why does Dean potentially stand out?
