ATHENS — Jonathan Ledbetter wasn’t the only Bulldog to run into trouble with the law this past weekend.

Former Georgia football player Damian Swann, now of the New Orleans Saints, was booked into Athens-Clarke County jail on charges on Friday of reckless driving and speeding. Police claim they recorded Swann driving 100 mph in a 65 mph zone on the Georgia State Route 10 Loop near College Station Road at 2:17 a.m. in his 2016 Jaguar. Swann was booked at 3:16 a.m. Friday and released 57 minutes later after posting a $2,000 cash bond, according to the jail records.

Reckless driving and speeding are misdemeanors.

Swann played in seven games and made two starts as a rookie cornerback for the Saints last season. He finished with 22 tackles and four pass break-ups.

At Georgia, the Atlanta native started 40 of the 50 games in which he played. He finished his career with 115 solo tackles, eight interceptions and 21 pass break-ups.
