Lee Corso may have committed an unpardonable sin on Saturday on ESPN’s College Gameday, and he did it for a second time.

In 2008, on the famous pregame show hosted in Athens, Corso called Georgia mascot, Uga, “ugly” and then proceeded to pick Alabama to beat Georgia at Sanford Stadium and donned the Crimson Tide elephant mascot head in front of a crowd of booing UGA fans.

Flash forward to Saturday: Corso formally apologized to Uga for his unkind words 11 years ago.

But then he doubled down on his trash talk, proceeding to call Uga “ugly” again — again generating a negative reaction from Bulldog fans.

“I want to apologize for calling you ugly,” Corso said during his pick on the ESPN pregame show. “I have had a heavy heart ever since then. I hope my words didn’t do anything to help you lose that game against Alabama. I want you to know I love you, and I want you to know I’m picking you to win this game.

“But I still think you’re ugly.”

Maybe some UGA fans will forgive Corso in time, as he did pick the Bulldogs to win. But that may be wishful thinking, considering Uga is Georgia royalty.
