Georgia senior receiver Tyler Simmons continues to have a great spring camp

WATCH: Georgia receivers, linebackers emerging in Practice 6 highlight video

ATHENS — Georgia football looks to be solving its receiver problems if the most recently released highlight clips are an indicator.

It was also worth replaying the clips of the early enrollee linebackers. The Bulldogs are looking to find defensive playmakers this spring.

In the latest highlight video, senior receiver Tyler Simmons can be seen schooling junior college transfer defensive back DJ Daniel with his route.

Simmons is expected to evolve into a role similar to the one played by Mecole Hardman. Simmons is an explosive receiver capable of scoring from anywhere on the field.

Demetris Robertson, a former FWAA Freshman All-American while at Cal, continued what looks to be a breakout spring camp for him.

Robertson won a battle of former 5-star recruits, crossing up cornerback Tyson Campbell in skeleton work.

Tailback Brian Herrien, apparently in a battle with Robertson for most improved skill position player of the spring, got loose from inside linebacker Tae Crowder’s coverage in a battle of seniors.

It’s a safe bet Herrien and Crowder will meet again in drill work, if not in the open field in the annual G-Day scrimmage at 2 p.m on April 20.

Junior D’Andre Swift is expected to be the lead tailback, and junior receiver J.J. Holloman is the leading returning receiver.

But Herrien will be important to the Bulldogs between the tackles and in short-yardage, and UGA needs dynamic receivers like Simmons and Robertson to stretch the field.

Matt Landers, while not featured in the Practice 6 clips, has also been much talked about at receiver this spring.

The highlight clip also featured much-hyped freshman outside linebacker Nolan Smith putting a spin move on Outland Trophy candidate Andrew Thomas.

Smith and Jermaine Johnson are competing to replace 2018 sacks leader, D’Andre Walker.

Early enrollee inside linebacker Nakobe Dean is also featured in a pass rush drill.
