Georgia football has produced NFL talent like no other program over the past four season with 42 players selected, and another class of Bulldogs will be headed to the pro ranks this spring.

Georgia talent is so well-known and respected that several of UGA’s NFL prospects are invited to postseason all-star games like the East-West Shrine Bowl along with the Senior Bowl, where NFL personnel are on hand to assess the players.

In addition to the five Georgia players taking part in Senior Bowl practices this week leading up to that 2:30 p.m Saturday game, there are another six headed to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl at 8 p.m. on Thursday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Outgoing Georgia starters Chaz Chambliss, Warren Brinson, Nazir Stackhouse, Dominic Lovett, Xavier Truss and Ben Yurosek were all invited to the East-West Shrine Game and some have had their moments in practice, per reports.

Of course, there’s always a degree of attrition, as players do not want to take any chances of suffering any injuries with the NFL Combine approaching.

Most often, players will err on the side of caution, such as when Chambliss suffered a hamstring strain in the first practice.

Chambliss, a Georgia team captain, was reportedly not walking with a limp but will not practice any more or play in the game.

Truss and Yurosek didn’t take part in the Monday practice and also are expected to miss the game on Thursday night.

The teams have been practicing at the University of North Texas indoor practice facility leading up to the game.

Stackhouse has impressed with his effort, while Lovett has made some nice catches in the practices, per the SteelersDepot website.

Lovett has been noted for impressive route-running skills and explosive ability in tight space.

Yurosek showed the ability to catch the ball in traffic and finish the reception after taking a hit.

Brinson was noted by the Giants.com website, which reported he was “a terror up front — no one could block him as he knocked a pass down at the line and was credited for at least one sack chasing the quarterback from the pocket.”

Former UGA receiver Jackson Meeks was also reportedly showing “strong hands at the catch point” in practices.

Former Georgia linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson, who played last season at Kentucky, made the SteelersDepot Website’s notebook by intercepting a screen pass thrown by Syracuse QB Kyle McCord and taking it for a touchdown.

Former SEC quarterbacks Brady Cook (Missouri) and Payton Thorne (Auburn) are also taking part and looking to impress the NFL coaches and scouts on hand.

The Atlanta Falcons will be represented with special teams coach Marquise Williams leading the East Team that the Georgia players will be practicing and playing on.

Shane Bowen, the New York Giants defensive coordinator, will be the head coach of the West Team.
