Javon Wims went ahead and told DawgNation his secret on Monday.

He’s already committed but Wims said he planned to sign with UGA on Wednesday. That came after some significant pursuit from former UGA coaches at both Miami and South Carolina.

But that wasn’t all he said. He shared a 30-second conversation he had with five-star quarterback signee Jacob Eason during his official visit this past weekend.

There wasn’t much said. Eason was on his way to work out, but he did spy the 6-foot-4, 215-pound junior college standout and offered up a short but simple message.

Wims said Eason asked him the following: “Was he ready to break records?”

The nation’s No. 11 overall junior college prospect also shared a sneak preview of insight on the full class that will sign with UGA on Wednesday.

“UGA fans should be very excited about the class that is going to sign on Wednesday,” Wims said. “There is a lot of talent that is going to be filled in there on both sides of the ball on defense and offense. These guys that are coming in are really going to help Georgia football that’s with or without me.

“I feel that the Georgia fans will really be excited about the upcoming season. I feel it is going to be a great one. I have no doubts that this team is going to succeed. That’s with the pieces that are already there and the pieces that the whole world is going to find out about on Wednesday.”

Wims also said that new receivers coach James Coley laid out what his role will be in the fall.

“The plan is for me to come in and kind of play right away,” Wims said. “The fact that I am working out and staying in shape. They said that if I come in ready to go in playing shape, then they are going to put me in a position to play right away.” Unless otherwise indicated, player rankings and ratings are from the 247Sports Composite.
