Want a daily lap through UGA recruiting? That’s what the Intel brings for its sixth morning of this week. In this edition, we break down the visitors list for No. 1 Georgia as it hosts SEC East rival South Carolina. It starts with the nearly 6-foot-9 Daniel Faalele.

Another week. Another big visitors list for the Bulldogs.

No. 1 Georgia will host several 5-stars Saturday when it meets South Carolina. It now seems the unbeaten Bulldogs can bring in just about any recruit they want to see.

There will be a lot of big names in town for the South Carolina game this week. Luke Ford (top left), Trey Hill (right), Tyson Campbell (middle) and Channing Tindall are all expected to be in Athens. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

No. 1 Georgia, as ranked by the College Football Playoff selection committee. Still unbeaten in November. Bringing in more 5-stars. That’s a constellation of terms that even the biggest UGA optimist we know never dreamed of happening in 2017.

The visitors list for Saturday includes 5-star outside linebackers Jamaree Salyer and Cade Mays.

Salyer, as avid DawgNation readers know, is the top remaining target for the Bulldogs for 2018. He’s the nation’s No. 1 offensive guard and the No. 7 overall player for 2018.

His decision is down to Clemson and Georgia. Salyer is set to take his official visit to Clemson next week.

Mays ranks as the nation’s No. 2 offensive tackle for this cycle and as the No. 15 player overall on the 247Sports composite. But this isn’t a great year for elite offensive tackles. He seems more like an ideal All-SEC candidate at guard or possibly right tackle than anything else.

He is a Tennessee legacy and is currently committed to play for Butch Jones in Knoxville.

5-star Jamaree Salyer is rated as the nation’s No. 1 OG guard for 2018. He is also the nation’s highest-rated OL prospect this year. (Jeff Sentell/DawgNation)/Dawgnation)

But that status as a Tennessee commit appears to be very tedious at this time. Multiple reports have him taking all of his official visits over the next month. He’s also slated to give Georgia an official visit on Dec. 15 ― just says before the new early signing period of Dec. 20-22.

Multiple sources also have told DawgNation that 5-star CB Tyson Campbell will be in the stands for an unofficial visit.

It seems as if the Bulldogs are in a very good spot for Campbell, the nation’s No. 3 cornerback prospect for 2018.

The 6-foot-2½, 185-pound prospect from American Heritage (Fla.) also ranks as the No. 23 overall prospect for 2018.

The numbers, so far, of who intends to visit Sanford Stadium for the game look like this:

  • 1: Nation’s top overall prospect
  • 1: UGA official visitor
  • 4: 5-star prospects (including commits such as quarterback Justin Fields)
  • 2: Prospects who are committed to another Power 5 program
  • 1: UGA legacy, Tommy Tremble, the son of former UGA safety Greg Tremble

This is by no means a complete list. DawgNation has worked to confirm all of these names through multiple channels. We’ve mixed in some early Friday morning updates with players who confirmed they would be in town over the last two days. But that evolves.

There are a couple of prospects from Grayson High School in Loganville, Ga., who said they might be in Athens, but we’ll wait until they are certain about their plans to add them to the list. There is also another prospect who is currently committed to an SEC rival who still might make that trip.
