UGA quarterback commit Jake Fromm was out in Los Angeles for the Elite 11 finals over the weekend, and he seems to have turned some heads.

That’s according to former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who helps out with the camp each year. When asked about the Houston County (Warner Robins, Ga.) signal caller, Dilfer offered up an intriguing comparison.

“You get guys – I would put Chase Daniel in his group – I would put Drew Brees to a certain degree,” Dilfer said, per 247Sports’ Kipp Adams. “Guys who are just natural passers. Throwing is easy – he knows how to change speed on the ball. He is a big, thick kid, that gives you a lot to work with. He’s prepared for that physical part of it.”

Fromm is the only Georgia quarterback commit in its 2017 class after flipping from Alabama back in March. The 6-foot-3, 224-pounder is a talented passer and a strong athlete who led his baseball team to a state championship in May.

Can he one day become a Super Bowl MVP like Brees? Or earn a big NFL contract like Daniel?  That remains to be seen, but what is clear is that the Bulldogs have a talented quarterback expected to arrive next season. Fromm will find out on Monday whether or not he will be one of 12 quarterbacks who earn a trip to the Opening this summer.
