The Georgia baseball team will host the first public event at the new Atlanta Braves stadium on April 8.

The Bulldogs will close a three-game SEC series with Missouri with the 1:30 p.m. game at SunTrust Park, which is in Cobb County.

The game in the 41,000-seat venue will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

UGA’s game is the second scheduled game at the ballpark, however, as the Braves will wrap up their spring training schedule there on March 31 against the New York Yankees — a game where only full and partial season-ticket holders (“A-List” members) will be able to attend.

Georgia and Mizzou will play April 6-7 at Foley Field in Athens.

Georgia also will face Georgia Tech at SunTrust Park on May 9 in the 15th annual Spring Baseball Classic for Kids. According to Georgia athletics, the series ranks as one of the nation’s largest attended college baseball games each year. averaging 19,413 fans in its 14 years at Turner Field.

According to a news release, tickets for the Georgia-Missouri game at SunTrust Park are now on sale for $15 and group packages are also available. To purchase tickets go through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000, Ticketmaster.com or through Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at choa.org/firstgame.
