4-star wide receiver Justin Robinson committed to Georgia over the weekend, and there are plenty of reasons to think this impressive athlete could have quite a career at the college level. However, some are suggesting Robinson could compare favorably with one of the greatest receivers in recent NFL history.

That comparison from Dawgnation’s recruiting insider Jeff Sentell — and based on an evaluation Jeff received from a source regarding Robinson — can be heard as part of the latest edition of DN90.

It was spoken in response to a question about whether Robinson projects as a receiver or defensive back at UGA.

It’s not uncommon for debates to emerge regarding the best position fit for players at the college level

Former UGA star Mecole Hardman spent his freshman season in 2016 attempting to learn to play defensive back before switching to wide receiver in 2017. Likewise, former UGA defensive back Deangelo Gibbs recently announced a transfer to Tennessee — where it’s expected he’ll switch to wide receiver.

Robinson plays both positions in high school, but Jeff thinks it’s obvious what his future will be at the next level.

“Clearly a wide receiver,” Jeff said on DawgNation Daily on Friday. “Georgia is really heavy after Justin Robinson… I think the well-informed mock class right now for Georgia at wide receiver… probably needs to include the name, Justin Robinson in it. That’s how heavily he’s being recruited right now by the University of Georgia.”

Robinson committed to UGA the next day.

It’s obvious UGA sees plenty it likes with Robinson. UGA coaches might even enjoy hearing Robinson linked with an all-time great. However, it’s also likely that UGA coaches don’t want Robinson to pattern his game after another player as much as they would like to see him become the best version of Justin Robinson he can be.
