Former Georgia kicker Blair Walsh made some headlines late on Friday when he drilled a 52-yard field goal for the Seattle Seahawks and then pointed over to the sideline of the Minnesota Vikings, his former team. Walsh claimed that the Vikings were taunting him before the kick.

On Saturday, however, Walsh said that his pointing at his former teammates was all in good fun. According to the Star Tribune, Walsh said that “It was in jest because they were taunting me.” Regardless, Walsh did seem to be legitimately fired up when the ball went through the uprights.

Walsh’s time in Minnesota did not end the way he or the team wanted. In early 2016, Walsh — normally very reliable — shanked what would have been a game-winning 27-yarder against the Seahawks in the playoffs. He then went on to struggle throughout the 2016 regular season before being released by the Vikings last November.

Walsh signed with the Seahawks in February.
