Somehow this got lost in the news cycle on Wednesday’s signing day, with UGA flipping a 5-star recruit from Auburn at the last minute, along with the Bulldogs finishing with the nation’s No. 2-ranked recruiting class.

But Georgia Tech and its boosters were really happy about beating out Auburn and Florida State for 4-star running back Jamious Griffin of Rome, Ga., on Wednesday.

With the addition of Griffin (who, by the way, is an excellent player), Georgia Tech finished with the nation’s No. 51 overall class under first-year coach Geoff Collins.

The folks at Tech are so giddy about the recruiting progress under Collins … that one of the school’s all-time greats posted a provocative tweet on Wednesday that is sure to garner more attention and discussion in the coming days.

The tweet was by Coleman Rudolph, the former Georgia Tech All-America defensive end who played a few years in the NFL. Here it is:

There’s so much packed into that tweet that I don’t even know where to start. Thoughts? Post them below.

UGA has won 15 of the last 18 meetings against Georgia Tech. On the day that Collins was hired, he humored reporters by publicly vowing not to use red ink again.
