ATHENS — Georgia football quarterback Jake Fromm says he will soon get X-rays on the hand he injured in a boating accident last summer.

Fromm broke a bone in his non-throwing hand and has been wearing a brace, so of course that was among the first questions he was asked on Monday.

“The hand is a lot better, it’s definitely come back to normal,” Fromm said, asked about the injury and when the brace he has been wearing will be removed. “I don’t necessarily have a timetable for the brace yet, but getting X-rays soon, and we’ll see what it says.”

Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart wouldn’t name Fromm the starting quarterback, nor did he release a depth chart on Monday.

But Smart made it clear Fromm will likely start, and Georgia’s sophomore quarterback even dropped some hints that he knew he’d be starting during his press conference.
