Georgia football favored at LSU’s storied ‘Death Valley’ in day game
ATHENS — Georgia football has opened as an 8 1/2-point favorite at LSU in the much-anticipated showdown in Baton Rouge on Saturday, according to VegasInsider.com’s BetOnline.
The No. 2-ranked Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 SEC) kick off at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) against the No. 13-ranked Tigers (5-1, 2-1) in Death Valley. The 102,321 facility is also known as Tiger Stadium. The game will be televised by CBS and can be heard on WSB radio (95.5 FM, 750 AM).
Georgia has been favored in all of its football games, most recently covering as a 26-point favorite over Vanderbilt in last Saturday’s 41-13 win.
LSU was a 1-point favorite in its road game at Florida, but the Gators pulled out a 27-19 victory.
Saturday’s game marks the third time the Tigers have been an underdog this season.
In the other two games, LSU beat Miami (-3) straight up, 33-17, and topped favored Auburn (-10) by a 22-21 count on the road.
LSU is 3-3 against the spread this season, just like Georgia.
The Bulldogs have been favored all of their games, including road trips to South Carolina (-9), a 41-17 win, and Missouri (-14.5), a 43-29 victory.
