Georgia continued to steamroll through 2017 with a 45-14 victory at Vanderbilt. This game had nothing in comparison to last year’s matchup between these two teams, except these two teams. The Bulldogs offensive line and power-running game dominated this affair. Georgia gained a season-high 423 rushing yards on 54 carries, averaging 7.8 yards per carry.

Seniors Sony Michel (150 yards on 12 carries, 1 TD, LG-50TD) and Nick Chubb (138 yards on 16 carries, 2 TDs, LG-33TD) led the way.

The members of DawgNation who shared their thoughts on our DawgNation Facebook page were thrilled with UGA’s running game and defense, but still had some reservations about Jake Fromm’s passing game and the brief appearance by Jacob Eason.

Here are some of their remarks, which may have been edited for space, clarity and content.

Tram Dickerson: “We got Thunder, Lightning, Twister and Hurricane.”

Jake Frigo: “Jake Fromm is an impeccable game manager man. He’s doing everything he’s asked and more with his legs and the perfect throw to Terry Godwin.”

Stephen Balance: “Why pass if you got three monster backs shoving it down their throats? It’s smart football. Run the clock down and start prepping for next week.”

Rich Barry: “Who’s is going to force us to throw? Alabama will be the only defense that matches us and that will be in the SEC Championship game. Throwing isn’t really an issue. Jake Fromm makes the throws when he needs to.”

James Crump: “Florida and Auburn will do much better against the run. UGA must stretch the field or face the possibility of losing to both.”

Spencer Edwards: “Let Jacob Eason rip a few. The offensive line is worn and the backs are playing lights out. Get those receivers and Eason some stats.”

Anthony Lattimer: “Jake Fromm is throwing the ball well. The receivers need to step up and make more catches.”

Mary Nixon: “Thanking coach Kirby Smart and this awesome team for the hard work and dedication. 🏈🏈🏈”

Darien Ford: “Can you imagine what our read-option game today would look like if Justin Fields was under center?”

James Crump: “I think Jacob Eason is starting to feel betrayed because he probably feels like he is not getting a legitimate shot to win the starting position back.”

Jay Wright: “I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Iowa State. Great win for them and will help us in the standings for sure.”

Monica-Scott Lindsey: “Great show of fans. That’s what will be important in games that mean something. Go Dawgs.”

Dion Ware: “Georgia looks championship ready. We need Mecole Hardman to catch the ball and D’Andre Swift to stop fumbling and we’ll be ready.”

Michael Perry: “A very good win. The passing game is going to have to pick it up. But a very good game. Go Dawgs!”
