As Georgia fans get set to take over Atlanta for the game against Georgia Tech on Saturday, coach Kirby Smart has taken notice of their passion and effort to make even road games feel like Georgia home games.
“It’s been very beneficial,” Smart said on the SEC coaches teleconference call. “It shows the passion our fan base has for the football team. It makes you feel like a home away from home.”
Georgia fans have filled opposing stadiums at Notre Dame and Vanderbilt, in addition to having strong fan turnout at Tennessee and for the Georgia-Florida game in Jacksonville, Fla. This no doubt has helped make things easier for the offense, especially freshman quarterback Jake Fromm.
On the call, Smart also revealed his favorite Thanksgiving side dish. He said it was his “Mama’s dressing.” That’s a big win for fans of stuffing, which is the same thing as dressing.
The Bulldogs take on Georgia Tech at noon ET on Saturday. The Bulldogs have not lost at Georgia Tech since the 1999 season.
