The No. 8-ranked Georgia baseball team marched into SRP Park in North Augusta and scored a commanding 9-0 win over The Citadel on Tuesday night.

UGA (34-12) snapped what had been a season-high four-game losing streak with the victory over The Military College of South Carolina (10-33).

The teams played at the home of the Class A San Francisco affiliate Augusta GreenJackets.

Logan Moody (1-0) got the win in his second career start, following up on the 3.1 scoreless innings he hurled in relief against No. 11 Georgia Tech on Apr. 23.

Moody pitched five innings of one-hit ball, fanning four and walking one to drop his ERA to 1.74.

The Bulldogs broke open the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, sending 13 batters to the plate in a seven-run inning.

Cam Shepherd provided the big shot, driving a one-out three-run home run out of the park to make it 8-0.

Georgia returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday against Florida (28-18, 9-12) in the first game of a key three-game SEC series.

The Bulldogs are chasing what would be their first SEC title since 2008, but they have some work to do.

Georgia is 13-8 in league play, two games off the pace of SEC East leader Vanderbilt (15-6) and SEC West leader Arkansas.

No. 2-ranked Vanderbilt is a South Carolina this weekend, and No. 6 Arkansas is at Kentucky.
