College football bowl projections are almost no more. The real thing is nearly here. But before we get to all the bowl games, the College Football Playoff’s No. 4 team will need to be announced.

Clemson, Oklahoma and Georgia all won conference championships on Saturday in decisive fashion and will get into the playoff. The last spot seems to be between Alabama (which lost its only game to a top-10 Auburn team) or two-loss Ohio State, which won its conference but got crushed by Oklahoma and Iowa. USC probably should be in the mix with two losses and arguably a better resume than either Ohio State or Alabama, but the committee hasn’t shown any signs of putting the Trojans in the field.

College Football Playoff selection show time, TV channel

ESPN has exclusive rights to broadcast the selection committee’s four teams competing in the College Football Playoff. Live coverage begins about noon ET Sunday and the four-team unveil is slated for around 12:30 p.m. ET. Around 2:30 p.m. ET, the selection committee discloses the other eight teams that will compete in the other four New Year’s Six bowl games as well as the complete top 25 list.

ESPNU will broadcast the bowl selections on beginning at 4 p.m. ET. Those pairings will come out individually and not through a general unveiling.
