There was finally some joy to be had across DawgNation after Georgia’s too-close-for-comfort 27-24 victory over host Kentucky in Lexington, Ky.

Rodrigo Blankenship booted a 25-yard field goal with ease as time expired to lift the Bulldogs one win closer to a bowl bid.

We asked fans for their reaction on our DawgNation Facebook page. Here’s a sampling of their responses, some of which have been edited for space and clarity:

Myles Russell: “93,000 people show up in Athens next week wearing black rimmed athletic glasses. #Glassout #RodrigoVision”

Drew Hines: “If Auburn plays the way they did today, the DAWGS better show up!!! Thanks so much “HOT-ROD RODRIGO” you won the game for us!!”

Chris Etheridge: “Although close, it was a solid performance. It was the first game that we showed a true game plan (and stuck to it) and a hint of what we will become.”

Robert Weaver: “(Offensive coordinator Jim) Chaney needs to involve Issac Nauta, Terry Godwin, and Sony Michel more in the short passing game. Everybody not named Roquan Smith on defense needs tackling lessons. Jacob Eason is the real deal. Go Dawgs !”

Scott Flynn: “Dawgs gave us hope tonight. Congrats to the kicker. Minus a few mistakes, game was coached and played much better. Hope we can bring that momentum into next weekend.”

Leslie Gaddis: “I hope Jim Chaney goes back and watch the game and realize he needs to throw short passes that’s what Jacob Eason is good at it keep the chains moving. He’s not that good on passes over 20 yards quit trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.”

Chris Herold: “What worked? The one thing we’ve been good at the last few years: run game. What do we need to fix? Literally everything else. But I guess I’ll take the W.”

Patrick S. Dennard: “Wake up folks, we beat a basketball team on a last second field goal, that we usually have as a homecoming foe!!! This team is awful!!”

Misty Williams: “Keep Chaney in the box. Run on the outside. Blankenship, continue what he’s doing.”

Josh Chapman: “Who would have thought after the way this year started that UGA would be able to win a game on a FG?”

Andrew Caraway: “Even though Chaney called a good game our fans will find a way to complain about something.”
