Former Georgia men’s basketball coach Dennis Felton will be a head coach once again in 2017.
Cleveland State has hired Felton as its new head coach, the school announced Friday.
It will be Felton’s first head coaching job since being fired at Georgia in 2009. He spent the past three seasons as an assistant at Tulsa.
“Dennis Felton has a championship pedigree and has coached and recruited at the highest level,” CSU AD Mike Thomas said in a press release. “He will be an outstanding leader for the student-athletes in our basketball program, on the court, in the classroom and in the community.”
Georgia fired Felton midway through the 2008-2009 season following an 0-5 start in SEC play. He was 84-91 overall with one NCAA Tournament appearance in his six seasons as the Bulldogs’ head coach.
